Stay with us at Calao tented camp and explore the beautiful Lowveld, including world famous KRUGER NATIONAL PARK.

Calao is the French name for the hornbill family of birds found throughout South Africa. With visitors such as hyenas, jackals, leopards and residents consisting of bushbucks, warthogs and vervet monkeys, you will never be far from the wild and firmly planted in the beautiful bush.

The camp is situated in the Guernsey conservation close to Kruger National Park’s Orpen Gate and offers self-catering accommodation in safari tents. Once the sun goes down you can enjoy the sounds as the nocturnal animals come alive.

Take a stroll throughout the entire property (26 ha) and alongside the Klaserie riverside, or search for the Big Five on Thornybush Game Reserve next door. Take a trip to the Kapama Cheetah Project, go rafting on the Olifants River or do a day trip to the Kruger National Park.
