Ceres Zipslide Tour was officially opened by the Minister and Deputy Minister of Tourism on the 1st November 2010. This currently the longest Zipslide Tour tolalling 1.4km. During the course of 2011 the second phase will commence and another 2,5km - 3km will be added to the existing tour.

Zip Lines are also known as a Canopy Tours (Costa Rica), Flying Fox (New Zealand and Australia), Zip Wire, aerial runway, aerial rope slide, death slide or Tyrolean crossing. In South Africa it is called "Foofi" or "Foefie" slide. This activity had its origin in Costa Rica, and was originally designed to give scientist access to upper regions of forests to do Canopy research.

Our tours depart every 30 min and groups sizes can be up to 12 people (Larger groups can be accommodated as per prior arrangement).  We operate in most weather conditions (even when raining) and tours will only be seized if there is lightning or if it is deemed that it would be unsafe and endanger the safety of our clients.

Our activities are very safe and we are one of the only Zipslide operators in the world to have our own patented braking systems. All our equipment is the best and installations conforms to the highest engineering standards.

The rock formations and changing scenery is breath-taking. 8 slides totalling 1.4 km for the longest tour in Africa! 2 – 3 hours (depending on group size) of adventure and adrenaline rushes. THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME!

You report at the office situated at the “Natuurtuin” as you enter Ceres from the Mitchells Pass opposite the Golf Course. There you will do the payments (We do have Credit Card facilities) sign an Indemnity form and get kitted up for an experience of a lifetime.

You will then be driven to the starting point 3km away accompanied by 2 professional guides.  At the starting point the guides will explain the Do’s and Don’ts and how our braking system works.

There you slide Zigzag across the Koekedouw River on 8 different cables from one platform to the other. The slides vary from 100-290m in length and the highest point is 40m above the ground. A free drink is also included during and after the Tour. Upon completion of the Tour you’ll be taken back to the office.

We can take children from 3 years and older which will be sliding Tandem with either a parent or one of our lead guides.

We have a similar operation "Tsitsikamma Falls Zipline Tour" that has been in operation for over 6 years and has been rated as one of the top ten attractions on the Garden Route by the "Getaway" magazine. Our activities are suitable for most age groups and were featured in various TV programs such as Mazda Adventure Zone on Super Sport, Top Billing, Israeli version of the Amazing Race etc.

• Long or short pants.

• Comfortable flat sole shoes preferably closed.

• Elastic band to tie up long hair.

• If it is raining you’ll be given a 2 piece rain suit to wear at no extra charge.

• Sunglasses should preferably have a neck strap.

• Please don’t forget the camera.

• Don’t forget sunblock in Summer.

Restrictions :

• Any person under the age of 18 years of age must have a guardian/parent to sign an indemnity form when partaking in the Zipslide Tour.

• Pregnant ladies

• Persons with spinal and neck problems

• Children under the age of 3 years. Children under 7 years must be accompanied by an adult and we can accommodate 1 child with a guide per group.

• Persons that weigh more than 120Kg or that the harness does not fit comfortably.

• Persons with severe Acrophobia (Fear of Heights). We have had many wonderful cases of people overcoming their fear of heights, due to the patience and professionalism of our guides.

Safety :

We pride ourselves on our safety due to the quality of our installations, the equipment that we use and our professional guides. Furthermore there are strict criteria set by the Insurance Companies which we have to abide by.  We are also one of only companies in the world to have our own patented zip line braking systems. “Foefie Brake©” & “Foefie Stop©”. Some companies use gloves to brake, which may lead to injuries such as dislocated or injured shoulders and fingers getting caught between the pulley and the wire rope.  Note that under no circumstances patrons are allowed to handle any equipment.

Tour Schedules :

We are open every day of the year. Tours depart every 30min. First tours leaves at 08h00 and last group leaves 17h00. Signing of indemnity forms and kitting up takes approximately 30 min. For large groups it is preferable to book in advance to avoid disappointment. We also request your patience if your group should leave later than expected, since we want to ensure every person’s safety and to enjoy the activities.
