The school holidays in South Africa has become a mission for parents. Children cannot be allowed to roam the streets or the fields with their friends anymore. At least 3 kids bicycles were stolen at knifes point within the last 30 days, on their way home after school. Where is the old days when crime was a rarity?

The mild crimes now, are drugs and rape. Well, the Americans may be everything the rest of the world accuse them of but they see opportunities and know how to market them. Take the American summer camps -it started over 40 years ago and became stronger and stronger. Both parents work and cannot always take holidays together or go on vacation when the kids have their breaks.

To scared to let them go to the mall (costs a fortune anyway)or keep them cooped up to watch TV and play playstation games that teach them to steal cars? The Americans have an accredited camp or activity system where your kids are educated, entertained, meet and make new friends – developing them socially.

South Africa has a couple of these facilities but they are not regulated under one umbrella and not marketed effectively. It could cost you less to send your kid on a camp than keeping them home. Work it out for yourself.

I would like to hear from this industry and if the parents in South Africa will appreciate such a service.

Yes, the rise of crime has grown so much in South Africa, especially relating to children. I think this camp is a great idea to keep the kids out of the streets.
